I woke up, encased in warmth. I was still curled up next to Toast. He must've pulled a blanket around the two of us in the middle of the night because I found myself cocooned in one. Toast was still asleep. I moved slightly so I could release the arm that was trapped under myself. I must've moved more than I thought because I felt Toast stir beside me. I looked up to his face. His eyes opened slowly. For a man, he had quite long eyelashes. He smiled drowsily at me.
"Hi." He said, stifling a yawn.
"Hi." I replied. I glanced at the clock. It was eleven o'clock. This was probably the latest I'd ever slept. Normally I woke up pretty early. I sat up, stretched and yawned. My back was stiff from the way I'd slept. As I was stretching, I noticed the bandage on my arm. I'd completely forgotten about being cut the previous day. But it wasn't even sore. I slowly undid the bandage. There was a long red line on my arm, but no cut.
"Veronika put some cream or something on it, it made it heal quicker. She put some on my cut too." Toast said, rolling up his sleeve. He had a red mark like my own. I stood up and paced about the room, rolling my neck and shoulders as I walked to get the stiffness out of them. I walked past the mirror and doubled back. I looked at my reflection.
"My hair looks fabulous." I muttered, pulling it out of the plait it had been in.
"Yes it does." Toast said, smiling at me. I glared at him and began running my fingers through it. I felt horrible. I needed a shower and seriously needed to brush my hair. As if reading my thoughts, someone knocked on the door. I opened it and saw Veronika standing there.
"If you need to have a shower, I will show you to the bathrooms." Veronika said, smiling at me. Veronika was a very to the point woman.
"I was just thinking about needing a shower. You haven't become psychic, have you?" I asked her.
"One of our younger witches simply suggested that you may like to have a shower." Veronika said.
"Okay. Lead the way." I said. Veronika turned on her heels and began to walk down the hallway. After a few seconds, I felt Toast's hand close around mind. We didn't speak as we walked after Veronika. She walked quite fast and we had to hurry to keep up with her.
"That's the men's bathroom." Veronika said, pointing to a doorway on one side of the corridor. "And that's the women's. You will find everything you need in there, including a change of clothes." She said, pointing to the door on the opposite side of the corridor.
"Thanks Veronika." I said, and she walked off again.
"See you in a bit." Toast said, kissing me on the forehead.
"See you." I said, and walked into the women's bathroom.
I stood under the spray of the warm shower. I allowed the water to plaster my hair to my scalp. My muscles ached from what had happened the day before. When I finally finished my shower and had dried myself and my hair, I went to see what clothes had been left for me. When I saw the pile of black, my heart dropped. I thought Veronika had left me one of her long dresses. However, as I got closer, I began to smile. I could see that some of the clothes were made out of leather. I lifted them up. A pair of tight, black jeans. A plain black t-shirt and a black leather jacket. I pulled them on. They fitted perfectly. I looked to the ground and smiled. A pair of black Doc Martins lay waiting for me. I slipped my feet into them, lifted the jacket and walked out of the bathroom. Toast was waiting for me. When I saw what he was wearing, I stopped and stared.
"What?" He asked, looking at me. Toast was wearing a tight black t-shirt with an unbuttoned black shirt over the top. He was wearing denim jeans and a pair of black shoes.
"Nothing. You just look very different." I said, smiling at him. What he was wearing was very different to what he usually wore. It made him look younger.
"Well, it's not what I'd usually choose to wear." He said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, I think you should wear it more often." I said. I put my hand to my hip to check my gun was okay. That's when I realised I wasn't wearing a holster and my gun was missing.
"Where is it?" I asked Toast, staring at him in disbelief. My gun was rarely more than a few paces from me.
"I thought you might be looking for this." Veronika said. She had her arms outstretched and was carrying the holster with my gun in it. She was looking at it with such concentration it seemed she was worried that if she looked away from it, it might bite her. I took it off her and put it on. I took the gun out and checked that it was okay.
"What exactly is it?" She asked me, looking at it.
"It's a gun." I said, looking at her in confusion.
"I know it's a gun, but what type?" She said. "It's nothing like the big guns they've tried to use to kill us." She said. She sounded angry.
"It's a Smith and Wesson." I said, brushing a dark smudge of the gun.
"Have you got bullets for it?" She asked, still not taking her eyes off the gun.
"I think I have some in the bike. Is it inside?" I asked, holstering the gun.
"Yes it is. Follow me." She said, and took off walking. As we were heading towards where my bike was being kept, a young witch came up and spoke to Veronika in a hushed tone. The young witch hurried off again.
"The people hunting you, four ghosts and a man, have found their way here. Of course they can't get in without permission but I thought it important that you know." Veronika said over her shoulder. Toast looked at me.
"You know what we have to do." Toast said, his voice sounded scared.
"We have to talk to them. And we have to talk Ghost back." I said. I grabbed his hand firmly. "We'll get out of this. Don't worry." I said. He smiled at me.
"This is just in case we do die." He said. He wrapped his arms arund my waist and pulled me into himself and kissed me. He didn't care that Veronika had walked on. He didn't care that she had come back and coughed lightly as if to tell us to continue following her. He didn't care that several other witches and wizards had come out into the corridor. I didn't care either. I just kissed him back.
"Hi." He said, stifling a yawn.

I love you Cywren
"Where the hell is she!" I yelled as I slammed past the solider guarding the door to Cywren's room. I had just recovered from the explosion. The explosion...
1 week earlier: "She did it! she did it" me, Copper, and Sarah cheered. I turned to the glass wall of the chamber.
"You did it Cywre-" I saw it. Her limp body sprawled across the floor of the chamber. "C-Cywren?" I choked. The others turned towards me. I heard their gasps, but I kept staring at her. "Cywren...no" I couldn't believe it. I was staring at the girl who had saved my life time and time again. The girl who taught me that there is a logical solution to everything, and that I ca

Goodbye Cywren
"Um, Cywren?" I called to her. she looked down from the ridge, and waved at me. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. her short orange hair was tied up in her usual messy looking bun. She was wearing the first outfit I had ever seen her in: a vault tech lab coat. It used to belong to one of her best friends, Jonas, before he died helping her father escape vault 101. Her eyes sparkled with Intelligence and, despite everything she had been through. From deathclaws to cannibals. Being abducted by aliens, and forced into slavery. Forced out of her home, the place she had known her entire life, and when she came back, she was shunned b

PROLOGUE: A Trip?
It was a warm day in London. All the birds were chirping and people were enjoying themselves. All was fine and perfect except for in a little humble home, where two people were arguing about a certain subject.
"Johnny Toast." A certain man with brunette hair knocked a fist on the table. His name was Johnny Ghost "You can't be serious! A trip?"
The other man was tad pale and had black hair. And his name was Johnny Toast "Well yes, sir. I am serious about this subject."
"This is no time for a vacation! We are the Paranormal Investigators Extraordinaire, and we can't afford to take a vacation!" exclaimed Johnny Ghost.
